CFI offers a return of our popular Young Explorers Summer Camps ecology camps for kids that want to combine time active time outdoors and learning cool stuff about our forest and rivers!

MOUNTAIN BASE CAMP - La Sal Mountains

3 night camping and 1 day river trip;

Meet 9am on Tuesday and return at 5pm on Friday

Three sessions offered:

  • June 15-18th for kids entering grades 7-9 in the fall
  • July 6-9th for kids entering 4-6th grades
  • August 10-13 for kids entering 4-6th grades

For youth entering 4th through 9th grades. Led by CFI Naturalist Guides and Camp Cook. Come on your own or bring a friend (parents not required to accompany!)

$100/child ($80 CFI member) Deposit; $25 (applies to total fee) 10% discount for sibling from same family. Includes transportation, camp support, tents and meals, river trip, Forest Service/BLM permits and FUN hiking, games and nature activities. Start day 1 at CFI 9am, return last day 5pm to CFI. You bring your own sleeping bag or CFI can provide.

CFI also teams up with the Youth Garden Project (435-259-2326) on other summer day camp weeks for younger kids. CFI will provide outings in mountains and on mild stretch of river. Call Youth Garden for current schedule, fees and to register.
