During the 9 month, two semester program, students participate in extensive practice teaching, take course work in natural sciences, literary arts, public lands, environmental education (theory and teaching methods), outdoor leadership and river running operations. Field trips include visits to National Parks, river trips, and hiking on the Navajo reservation. Students may go on to complete masters degrees at an institution of their choice or seek jobs in related fields. Full tuition is $9,000. |
Academic courses are taught by highly qualified CFI staff along with guest faculty, holding masters or Ph.D. degrees and who are passionate about their work. All graduate residents are involved in CFI's work study program throughout the nine months and can earn approximately $1000 in fall semester and $2000 or more in spring semester. Work study involves work in all of our departments: office administration, marketing/sales, fundraising, operation support and field instruction. |
